Rugs for Dolls!

This week in maths we have been using arrays to help us multiply and then to find area.  We made rugs for dolls in our toyshop using squared paper.  Kian and Alfie made 2 rugs of the same size but with 2 different arrays.

Victorian Dress Up Day

victorian day 131victorian day 132As part of our ‘A Christmas Carol’ topic work, we had a guest visitor to our school this week.  He showed us lots of Victorian artefacts, told us about life as a Victorian and in role as Scrooge, recounted the day that the ghosts came to visit him.

We even had to eat gruel for breakfast!

Many thanks to all the parents and carers who supported us our work with all the fantastic costumes!

IMG_0480As part of our literacy topic, we have been learning about charity and poverty.  The children decided to raise some money for charities that we have been writing about.  Thank you to all the families who supported the causes of: Cancer Research, Water Aid, NSPCC and RSPB.  You raised over £200, which will be sent this week.  Many thanks for your continued support!IMG_0499

Thank you so much to all the parents who came to our event, which showcased all the hard work that the children have been engaged in this half term.  Our event was well attended and your children were a credit to you.
